RESKILLING CRAFTS – Testing a new model of inclusive reskilling labs to boost the digital and sustainable future of the Craft Sector
EU-Programme: Erasmus+, Policy experimentations, Adult
Coordination: Federación de Organizaciones Artesanas de Castilla y León – CEARCAL (FOACAL), España
Duration: March 2025 – February 2028

RESKILLING CRAFTS addresses the urgent need to modernise the craft sector by developing inclusive and innovative training opportunities that support its transition to the green and digital economy. The sector is facing a projected decline in jobs due to ageing workers and lack of digital and sustainable skills, yet at the same time presents significant opportunities for new employment, especially through upskilling and reskilling.
The project aims to test a new model of inclusive reskilling labs that bring together public and private actors to support both employed and unemployed adults. These labs will offer tailored training programmes, combining traditional craftsmanship with digital technologies and sustainable practices.
A central innovation is the CRAFT Reskilling Labs Platform, which includes a Skills Intelligence System, Career Guidance and Inclusion Space, and a Micro-credentials Certification Tool to validate newly acquired skills. Pilot training activities in companies will test these resources to ensure their practical relevance.
RESKILLING CRAFTS contributes directly to EU strategies on adult learning, digital transition, and the Creative Pact for Skills. It supports vulnerable groups, promotes lifelong learning, and aims for systemic impact by proposing a model that can be scaled across Europe.
