Elec_vehicle is an Erasmus+ KA220-VET cooperation project focused on preparing a common curriculum and digital educational tools for professionals in the electric vehicle sector. Running for 30 months, from September 2023 to February 2026, the project brings together partners from Lithuania, Türkiye, Greece, Italy and Spain to respond to a clear challenge across Europe: the rapid growth of electric mobility is creating strong demand for qualified professionals who can safely maintain, repair and work with electric vehicles.

The project aims to strengthen both vocational and key competences in the automotive field by developing high-quality training content on electric vehicles, improving green skills, increasing cooperation between VET providers, labour-market actors and sector stakeholders, and raising awareness of the opportunities and requirements linked to EV technology. At the same time, it supports the digital and green transition by offering accessible, practice-oriented learning opportunities that can be used in formal and non-formal vocational education contexts.

To achieve this, Elec_vehicle is developing a set of integrated outputs: an in-service training curriculum and modules on EV systems, maintenance, repair and work safety; a MOOC platform that allows learners to access courses, tests and learning materials anytime and anywhere; and a Virtual Reality tool that helps users explore vehicle parts, procedures and safety issues in an immersive, practice-based way. The project also includes train-the-trainer activities and national in-service training sessions so that knowledge can be multiplied and transferred to a wider circle of professionals and stakeholders in the automotive ecosystem.

The main target groups are professionals, masters and stakeholders in the automotive field, especially those who need updated competences in EV technologies. The project also addresses the needs of VET schools and teachers, many of whom completed their education before the expansion of hybrid and electric vehicles and therefore require new learning resources and methodologies. In the longer term, Elec_vehicle is expected to improve the capacity of VET institutions and the sector, support employability, reduce skills gaps, and contribute to a better prepared workforce for a greener and more digital automotive industry in Europe.
