The project "European Wetlands Ambassadors" (AMHE) faces a double European challenge:
(1) Providing quality training and more ambitious career prospects to vulnerable groups excluded from the labor market (long-term unemployed, young adults excluded from the school system, low-skilled elderly people)
(2) and meeting the needs of protection and improvement of wetlands and natural streams that have been imposed on the European Communities and Member States to maintain, combat pollution, control natural hazards, and, in general, disseminate information.

AMHE proposes to establish and test a new repository of skills, complementary skills, and training already acquired in economic integration organizations in the field of sustainable development. This skills repository outlines a new job, that of "Wetlands Ambassador," by providing training topics currently covered by active integration agencies on the implementation of the value of wetlands, new topics such as environmental mediation, environmental knowledge, ecological engineering, and the exchange of cutting skills and action capabilities.

The European cooperation implemented in the project constitutes a real added value compared to existing experiences, as it allows:
(1) Proposing a common response to a double challenge common to European countries (the quality of wetlands and long-term unemployment).
(2) Benefiting from the diversity of European practices and situations.
(3) Promoting the recognition of this new profession within a community framework, facilitating equivalences and mobility.
